Easy to store and hardly noticeable? Yes, please!

When you're in the mood to get intimate with your partner, your first thought might be to make your way to the bedroom, but that doesn't have to be the case. Sure, the bed is great, but you can transform your sexual experience using the right items—and that's where sex furniture comes in.

Whether you're interested in snagging an investment piece or simply want something that offers serious bang for a little less buck, you have tons of options to explore. Some pieces can casually blend in with your pillows, like this wedge from Dame. Others can be installed when you're ready to use them, like this sex swing. There are even modern sex couches that blend right in with the rest of your furniture.

Meet the experts: Melanie Rose is a Los Angeles-based interior designer, host, and consulting producer of Netflix's How To Build A Sex Room. Shamyra Howard, LCSW, is an international award-winning sexologist and AASECT certified sex therapist. Carolanne Marcantonio, LCSW, is an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist and the co-creator and clinical director of Wise Therapy.

If the thought of buying sex furniture feels like a big step, Carolanne Marcantonio, LCSW, SIFI, CST, suggests testing out some items you already own. "Create your own furniture, start with a pillow, use what you have around, and go from there," says Marcantonio. But if you've already exhausted all your pillows and sofas, it might be time to graduate to something a little more advanced (but still not intimidating, promise!). WH has you covered with 15 of the best sex furniture pieces that you'll want to add to your cart ASAP—plus, a few maintenance tips.

"My favorite is the Tantra Chair. It’s an elegant piece of furniture without giving away its actual use," says Melanie Rose, an interior designer and host of Netflix's How To Build A Sex Room. "I particularly recommend it to couples where there is a height difference. The unique shape also encourages couples to try different positions." If you're not quite ready to make the splurge, this chaise lounge from Wayfair is an affordable (and nearly identical) alternative.

"You can use [an enhancer chair] for oral pleasure, face sitting, or to bounce on top, especially if you don’t have knees like Megan [Thee Stallion]," says Shamyra Howard, LCSW, and Lovehoney's sex and relationship expert and therapist.

This sex sofa pretty much does the job of blending in with the rest of your furniture upon first glance. The sleek, modern edge can match many home aesthetics. And if anyone has any questions, you can simply tell them it's your favorite spot to read in, and no one will bat an eye. Trust!

According to Rose, a sex swing allows for "more mobility" than other toys. "Think 360 degrees," she says. Rose adds that if you plan on hanging one from your ceiling, make sure you do so using a ceiling joist for safety.

"[A wedge] positions the body in place to receive oral pleasure with ease. It can also be used under the hips while stimulating the G-spot," says Howard. This wedge-ramp combo sex pillow allows you to try tons of different body configurations, so you'll never be bored.

"Where discretion is required, I recommend a sex bench," explains Rose. "They look like an ottoman that can be placed at the end of a bed. However, these are sturdier and some come with hidden restraint clips."

Howard adds that this kind of product is ideal for kinky couples that engage in BDSM since it provides access to oral play, penetration, spanking, or other types of impact play.

Not really into the idea of keeping your sex furniture out in the open? There are still options for you. "If there is absolutely no room for sex furniture in your bedroom and you want to experience something sexy, then the easy and simple solution is to use under-bed restraints, which will fit under most mattresses and can be a tantalizing and thrilling experience!" says Rose.

"A sex sling is along the lines of a hammock," says Rose. Sex swings, she adds, tend to have more options, but this is also a good buy if you're looking for a stable product that allows you to relax a bit more.

This wedge pillow from Dame "can be easily stored away," says Rose, if discretion is top of mind. If your next O is? "One of the many things it can help with is raising the hips, allowing for deeper penetration," Rose adds.

To add to the list of items that can double as normal furniture is this faux leather sex position enhancer chair. The chair comes with two kinds of seat surfaces, so if you need to hide one side, simply flip it, and it looks like a regular seat.

The St. Andrew's Cross is a staple in the BDSM community. It typically allows restraining points for your arms and legs so that the person on it is in a spread eagle position. If you're worried about comfort, this particular style, amongst others, comes with a middle cushion for your back.

Similar to the wedge but slightly different is the Mount Pillow, which "allows for sexual exploration in various positions all in one spot," according to Howard.

This item also comes with a pocket to place your favorite vibrator in so you can get intimate with your partner while taking advantage of other opportunities.

"I’ve had enormous success with triangular-shaped adult bean bags," reveals Rose. "They are so flexible and mold themselves to the body’s contours. They come in an assortment of colors and fabrics, and if fluids are going to be an issue, then add a waterproof throw."

If you prefer to take things to the floor, this padded bondage board has 18 different restraining points that will allow you or your partner to get creative with all kinds of positions. Plus, it's easy to fold up and store out of sight.

If you're no stranger to bondage and looking to elevate your BDSM game, this sex chair could be right for you. The base is made with vegan leather and medical silicone, and the chair can be adjusted for multiple positions.

"It’s important to keep sex furniture clean and dry between uses and as needed," says Howard, adding that bleach and other harsh chemicals aren't recommended when it comes to keeping toys and furniture sterile. "However, some sex toy furniture can be cleaned with a sex toy cleaner such as Lovehoney’s Fresh Toy Cleaner or mild soap and water. Always follow cleaning instructions on the individual product."

Pro tip: Avoid real leather. "Experience has taught me that real leather, while it looks amazing, is often difficult to clean, and unless care is taken, it can crack," says Rose. "However, there are some gorgeous vegan leathers available now, and these are a little easier to clean."
