A stray bullet fired during a fight between two women in the parking lot of a Daytona Beach apartment complex Thursday morning struck a man in his home, police said.

Police said a second man standing nearby was also hit by bullets.

This is the second shooting incident in two days in Daytona Beach that has left injured victims.

Daytona Beach police spokesman Messod Bendayan confirmed the shooting occurred at the Tzadik Bay Apartments at 1215 S. Beach St.

Bendyan said calls to 9-1-1 indicate the shooting stemmed from a fight between two women.

When the confrontation turned physical, one of the women, Jayla Monet Fisher, 19, went to her car, grabbed a gun and started shooting, investigators said.

The other woman, an unidentified 20-year-old, was not hit by gunfire, but two others were struck by bullets, police said.

A 19-year-old man who was in the parking lot observing the fight, was hit in the arm and drove himself to Halifax Health Medical Center were he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, Bendayan said.

The other victim, a 78-year-old man who lives at the apartment complex, was in his home when one of the bullets went through a glass window and struck him in the upper torso, Bendayan said.

Paramedics transported him to Halifax Health Medical Center, also with a non-life-threatening injury, Bendayan said.

Fisher fled the scene, and police began searching for her, assisted by a Volusia County Sheriff's Office helicopter.

At 10:19 a.m., police said they had detained Fisher at the Andros Isles Apartments on Acklin Circle in Daytona Beach.

Fisher was charged with two felony counts of aggravated battery and one misdemeanor count of simple battery. She was being held without bail at the Volusia County Branch Jail on Thursday.
