Actor Gary Busey was charged with three counts of sex crimes and one count of harassment, stemming from a Monster-Mania convention at a hotel outside Philadelphia last week, local police confirmed Saturday.

Busey, 78, faces two counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual contact and one count of fourth-degree attempted sexual assault, as well as a fourth count of harassment, involving at least two alleged victims, according to Cherry Hill, N.J., Police Lt. Robert Scheunemann, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported.

Local police are currently investigating Busey, who lives in California, the department posted in a tweet.

Police did not provide details on the alleged victims, but said the incident took place on the weekend of Aug. 12-14 at the Doubletree Hotel outside Philadelphia.

Busey is best known for playing musician Buddy Holly in the 1978 film The Buddy Holly Story, which earned him an Academy Award nomination for best lead actor. He has also appeared in the 1974 remake of A Star is Born, as well as Silver Bullet (1985) and Lethal Weapon (1987). In the 2000s, he appeared on reality TV shows including Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew and Celebrity Apprentice.
