A body language expert has claimed that Kaye Adams seemed 'relieved' to be the first celebrity to be eliminated from this year's series of Strictly Come Dancing

Strictly Come Dancing star Kaye Adams was "relieved" to leave the competition, according to a body language expert. The Loose Women co-host became the first celebrity to be sent home after facing singer Matt Goss in the first dance-off of the series.

For week two, Kaye and her professional dance partner Kai Widdrington performed a Charleston to 'Music! Music! Music!' by Dorothy Provine. Sadly, their performance failed to impress judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Shirley Ballas and Anton Du Beke and they scored just 22 points out of a possible 40.

After performing their routine for the second time in the dance-off, Craig, Motsi and Anton all opted to save Matt and Nadiya Bychkova, meaning Kaye was eliminated. However, speaking on behalf of Betfair Casino, body language expert Darren Stanton claimed that Kaye was "relieved" to be voted off.

“It’s clear that Kaye made a conscious decision to do much better than last week," he explained. "I noticed she was a lot more tactile and opened up in respect of being comfortable in Kai’s personal space.

"This was an issue during week one and could have ultimately gone on to affect their performance. The pair seemed to be relaxed in each other’s proximal space and Kaye was comfortable in giving the reins of power over to Kai."

He continued: “I noticed Kaye was tapping her stomach during feedback, which is a gesture of impatience and frustration because she wanted to get through the process as quickly as possible. Kai also didn’t seem happy and flashed a fake smile at the end. He was either expecting better feedback or he feels that they have not performed to the standard that he would have liked.

“Sadly, Kaye became the first celebrity to be voted off and was obviously disappointed. However, she also showed great signs of relief that it was all over. She has felt like a fish out of water since day one and can now leave with her head up high.”
